Not just a bike brand. A carbon manufacturer.

Pardus is the house brand of Shandong Taishan Ruibao : 100 000 m² of factory floor, 1 200 people, and the bikes of the Chinese national cycling team since the Rio Games. The fibre comes from Toray, in Japan — everything else is done in the factory : weaving the sheets, the resins, the moulds, the paint.

10 models in the catalogue from 2 590 € to 7 690 € delivered in 5 to 7 working days

01 · The factory · new for 2026

What goes in, what is made on site, what comes out.

100 000 m² mean nothing until you say what happens there. Here is the journey, step by step — and what to take from it: nothing that makes the frame is outsourced.

What goes in

The fibre

Toray, Japan — from T700 to T1100 depending on the level. Also the supplier of the €6,300 frame kit compared in section 04.

The resins

Developed in-house. Too much resin means extra grams — the next step exists for exactly that.

Moulding

In moulds the factory designs and owns. HPT, EPS or EPS+: section 03 explains what that changes.

02 · The race number · a pro team on Pardus frames

The factory is the promise. Racing is the proof.

China Glory is a professional team UCI Continental — the third tier of road cycling, below the WorldTeams and ProTeams — and its riders start international races on Pardus. Here are their machines, up close.

The bike in the photos is the Spark EVO, the team’s racing machine: it is not in the shop’s catalogue, and we’d rather tell you so. What it shares with the bikes sold here: the same factory, the same carbon — which is what the next section details, level by level.

03 · The carbon · what you can’t see in the photo

One fibre, one curing: the recipe for each level.

What separates two Pardus frames can’t be seen in the photo: it happens inside the tube, during curing. Choose a level — the catalogue pyramid fills from the bottom up, and the recipe fits in three lines: the fibre laid, the curing, what it changes when you ride.

EVO RS SPORT

The Pardus catalogue pyramid — it fills from the bottom up, on click.

The fibreHS (Toray T700 · T800) — the one that soaks up impacts: the fork, the chainstays, the seat stays. The carbon in most bikes.

The curingEPS, EPS+ or HPT depending on the model. HPT — an inflated tube that presses the fibres against the mould — is the brand’s basic process.

A frame that soaks it up: cobbles, white gravel roads, broken road edges. It isn’t chasing grams, it’s built to last.

At this level in the catalogue: Uragano Sport SRAM Apex AXS 2 590 € · Uragano Sport SRAM Rival AXS 3 490 € · Robin Sport Shimano 105 Di2 3 690 €

The fibreHS or HMS (Toray M40J · M30S) — the high modulus stiffens the bottom bracket and the head tube without adding weight elsewhere.

The curingEPS+ or HPT depending on the model. With EPS+, the latex-coated core leaves a smooth inner wall: fewer wrinkles, less excess resin.

Acceleration. The bottom bracket and the head tube are stiffened where you push, without the rest of the frame becoming harsh.

At this level in the catalogue: SPK G4 Shimano 105 Di2 4 090 € · SPK G4 Shimano Ultegra Di2 5 090 €

The fibreUHMS (Toray T1100) — the top of the Toray catalogue: +120% strength compared with T800, +179% modulus compared with M40J.

The curingEPS+ only. Smooth inner wall: fewer fibre wrinkles, less excess resin — so fewer grams, in the same place.

740 g bare frame, 290 g fork. That’s the level of the Robin EVO: 6.8 kg on the workshop scales, with Ultegra Di2.

At this level in the catalogue: Robin EVO Shimano Ultegra Di2 4 990 €

05 · The range · 10 models

Ten bikes, each with a frame of its own.

From 2 590 € to 7 690 €. None is an off-the-shelf frame that’s been repainted: they come out of the moulds of the factory that designed them. Sizes are chosen at the shop — we take your measurements before ordering.

06 · The terrain · the vineyards, the climb, the valley

The terrain around here decides between the six bikes, not the spec sheet.

A brand website can describe a bike. What it doesn’t know is where you’ll ride: the vineyards, the climb, the valley floor. Choose your terrain — it tells you what it asks of a bike, and which bikes in the range answer.

Vineyards The Alsace Route des Vins through the vineyards, near Obernai

The Route des Vins

It runs through Obernai — the ride starts at the shop door.

Clean tarmac but never flat: vineyard drags, a kick at every village — and, on either side, the vineyard tracks running along the rows.

  • Accelerationa frame that responds when the road rises, village after village.
  • The vineyard trackswide tire clearance, to leave the tarmac without changing bikes.
  • Hours in the saddlecomfort over patched joints and broken road edges.
Forest climb The road up Mont Sainte-Odile through the forest, above Obernai

Mont Sainte-Odile

The climb starts in Ottrott, above Obernai, and ends at the monastery.

A steady gradient, almost all in the forest, and the same road back down. This is where two frames are compared: what section 03 describes, the climb lets you feel.

  • Gearingclimb seated without suffering — an 11-30 at the back changes the climb.
  • Gramsyou pay for them on the climb; they’re weighed in the workshop before handover.
  • Stiffnessso your effort ends up in the wheel, not in frame flex.
Valley floor A valley-floor track along the Bruche, towards Molsheim

The Bruche valley

The valley opens out at Molsheim, 12 km from the shop.

Back roads, tracks and forest paths along the river: the surface changes without warning — and that’s exactly what you ask of a gravel bike.

  • Tires40 mm: the volume that absorbs what the tarmac no longer does.
  • The frameHS fibre — the kind that soaks up impacts rather than adding stiffness.
  • The drivetrainno cables or housing to clog up when the road turns into a track.

Three terrains, six bikes: each of the six has its own. Size, though, is chosen at the shop — measurements are taken before ordering.

07 · Your questions · and our answers, straight

A brand nobody knows. Let’s talk about it.

“You don’t buy a road bike blind. We take your measurements in the shop, choose the size with you, and the workshop assembles and adjusts the bike before handover.”
Vélo Shop Obernai — 26 rue de Sélestat, 67210 Obernai

HS, HMS, UHMS carbon: what difference does it make?

They are three grades of fibre. HS (high strength, Toray T700 and T800) soaks up impacts: it’s the carbon in most bikes. HMS (high modulus, M40J) adds stiffness where it’s needed, without adding weight.UHMS (T1100) is the top of the Toray catalogue — +120% strength over T800 according to the brand. A frame contains several at once, laid zone by zone: the Robin EVO is 10% T1100, 60% T800 and some M40.

EVO, RS, SPORT: how do I choose?

They are the brand’s three levels, defined by the fibre and by the moulding. SPORT : HS fibre, to get into road or gravel cycling with reliable equipment. RS : HS or HMS, electronic drivetrains, for the experienced rider. EVO : UHMS and EPS+ moulding, designed for racing. We talk it through before you order — the kind of choice a direct-to-consumer website doesn’t make with you.

What is the “EPS+ moulding” written on the spec sheet?

The way the carbon is compressed during curing. With HPT, an inflatable tube presses the fibres against the mould — that’s the usual process. With EPS, a solid core replaces the tube: the lay-up is more precise. With EPS+, a layer of latex on that core leaves a smooth inner wall : fewer fibre wrinkles, less excess resin. That’s where the saved grams come from — not from a marketing figure.

Why is it cheaper for the same equipment?

Because there is no brand name to pay for, and no middleman between the factory and the shop. With the big brands, the frame kit alone — frame and fork, no wheels or drivetrain — costs €5,500 to €6,300. A complete Robin EVO, with Ultegra Di2 and carbon-spoke wheels, is 4 990 €.

How much does a Robin EVO really weigh?

740 g for the bare frame in size M and 290 g for the fork, figures from the brand’s catalogue. The complete bike, built with Shimano Ultegra Di2 and carbon-spoke wheels, comes out at 6.8 kg. We weigh it in the workshop before handover, and we give you the real weight of your size — not that of the lightest size in the catalogue.

Where is Pardus sold in France?

Nowhere yet. Vélo Shop is among the very first French dealers of the brand. It’s a bet, and we say so: the payoff is value for money — and the fact that we never sell a brand we couldn’t repair.

Who rides Pardus?

The Chinese national cycling team, at the Games of Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024. In France, the brand is only just arriving: there is no independent press test yet, and we’d rather tell you than let you find out.

Which size for me?

Six sizes on the Robin EVO, from XXS to XL. We take your measurements in the shop before ordering: inseam, torso, arm span, and the position you really hold over two hours. That’s exactly what a direct-to-consumer website can’t do.

Can I try it before buying?

Yes, without an appointment, during opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 9:30–12:00 / 13:00–18:30. Closed Sunday and Monday. +33 3 88 04 85 61.

And if I break a brand-specific part?

Derailleur hanger, MTMT integrated handlebar, seatpost: we keep them in the workshop, and we tell you the real lead time before you order, not after.

How long does delivery take?

5 to 7 working days after ordering. The bike is assembled and adjusted in the Obernai workshop before handover, and pick-up at the shop is free.
